25-26 Book Battles are complete!

All of the teams worked incredibly hard and showed off their reading skills. After some great battles, a few teams came out on top—but everyone should be proud of the effort, teamwork, and preparation they put in.

Great job to all who participated, and thanks to everyone who helped make it such a fun event!

Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students competed in our Book Battles yesterday, and they did an amazing job! We are so proud of all the teams for their hard work, teamwork, and knowledge of the books. Everyone gave it their best and showed great sportsmanship throughout the competition.

We had 68 total teams: 26 3rd grade teams, 24 4th grade teams, and 18 5th grade teams!

Congratulations to the teams that will be moving on to compete in the Book Battles Championship this tomorrow! We can’t wait to see how the final round unfolds.

Great job to all of our readers and competitors!

After many weeks of preparation, our 2nd and 3rd grade students completed three performances of "Pajama Party!" Thanks to Mrs. Fitzsimmons for piecing together all the elements of this performance. Thanks to Amanda Jungman for choreographing the dances. Thanks to the may volunteers that assisted with the set, costumes, supervision, and much more. Finally, thanks to the second and third grade teachers for their flexibility of schedules through the weeks. The kids did amazing! We are proud of our JHE performers!

Today we held our 5th-grade flag ceremony. Congratulations to this year's winner, Sophie Hayzlett! Sophie's flag is the 35th flag designed by a 5th-grade student and hung at JHE. Her flag represents this year's school theme: Leave it Better. Congrats to the finalists: Jorja Appel, Savannah Vanderloo, Ella Beck, Taige Larson, Cooper Henglefelt, and Callie Cosand. Thanks to Sam Levisay for encouraging and inspiring all students that entered their ideas. Thanks to our 5th grade flag PTO representative, Krista Larson, for working hard behind the scenes to make this event happen.
