Happy National Arts in Education Week!
From Ms. Levisay: In celebration, our new school-wide collaborative project is complete! This year, students helped create three-dimensional butterfly sculptures inspired by glass art and suncatchers. We discussed how transparent art interacts with the environments it is placed in and looked at examples of how different artists incorporate colored glass, transparency, and sculpture together to create a work of art.
Inspired by these concepts, our JHE students worked collaboratively, and they each contributed a transparent piece to create our sculptures. Our butterflies can be seen hanging in the skylights in the Library and next to the Multi-Purpose Room.
Thanks to Ms. Levisay and our JHE Artists!
